Trip Overview
Start an unforgettable journey into the untouched eastern Himalayas with the Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek—a once-in-a-lifetime expedition that combines natural beauty, cultural richness, and true adventure. Unlike the popular trails of Everest or Annapurna, this trek takes you far off the beaten path into one of the most remote and stunning regions of Nepal.
The trek passes through the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area, home to rare wildlife, diverse vegetation, and spectacular landscapes. You will reach both the South Base Camp (Oktang, 4,610m) and the North Base Camp (Pangpema, 5,143m), each offering surreal views of Kanchenjunga and its towering sister peaks.
Along the journey, immerse yourself in the cultures of the Limbu, Rai, and Tibetan Buddhist communities, whose traditional villages and ancient monasteries dot the trail. With every step, you’ll encounter dramatic changes in terrain—from warm subtropical forests to icy moraines and glacial plateaus.
This demanding trek is best suited for experienced trekkers in good physical condition, looking to explore one of the last true wilderness treks in Nepal.
